My son, whom one manager Becky knew had Asperger's Syndrome, wasn't thinking two weeks ago, and, unfortunately, took a few bananas because he was feeling sick and didn't have time go grab food from home. He's currently going to the Culinary Institute of Michigan for his culinary arts degree, and working at Bob Evans was a dream job come true. He could learn to prep, cook, and learn what he's going to be doing in his career. He loved it there, had several friends, and was going to work his way up from dishwasher to prep cook, and then line cook later down the road. He is going to the Culinary Institute of Michigan as a full-time student and worked just under the hours allowed tor receive a break. I feel his anger is justified regarding how he was treated. Back to the banana incident, Becky caught him and, rightly so, asked him to clock out for the day. A few hours after he clocked out, he called and spoke to another manager, explained the situation, that he made a mistake, and it wouldn't happened again. They made him wait almost a week for a "meeting," but I assured him that because he was a good and efficient worker, stayed sometimes two hours past his shift (with no break, by the way), came in early when asked, tried to help wherever he was needed, and was given compliments on how fast a worker he was (which always made his day!), that he wouldn't be fired. I told him to go in and apologize, be positive, and dressed and ready to work. It was only a few bananas, and in the restaurant world, people DO grab a little something to nibble on; it's common knowledge. Remember working at McDonald's and getting a hamburger when you were working and were hungry? At the meeting last week, he talked to Eric and Becky, and he was promptly fired and wouldn't even hear him out. To make matters worse, they told him that if he stole a few bananas, he "may" steal more stuff (i.e. money). My son is NOT a thief. Yes, he took a few bananas so he wouldn't be sick. But how DARE they insinuate something like that, and it's downright insulting. They were also rude to him and talked to him like a condescending little child. My son is 19, not 9! Then, they actually asked for their shirt back! Since he was dressed and ready to work, he had to suffer humiliation by taking his shirt off in the restaurant, exposing his upper torso (he's a big guy). I mean, in the middle winter, they wouldn't even let him keep his shirt?! I'm not excusing what he did. It was wrong but when working with young adults who have a disability, read on it, listen to what you're told about a disability, and and give them a chance. To be fired from his very first culinary job hurt. He loved that job! Yes, he was wrong to take a few bananas and most definitely should have asked, but to get fired over something so trivial? Since he was such a good worker, I think a warning should have been given, or have somebody watch him or reiterate company policy, or, how about this, TRAIN him properly again as to what's right and wrong. He understands he did wrong and won't do it again. As they say in the restaurant business, one bad experience from a customer will then tell another, and then another, and then their customer base drops. I've told all my friends what happened and, those who have gone to Bob Evans on a regular basis, told me they'd never step foot inside A Bob Evans again. This falls under the Americans with Disabilities act, as well as infringes his civil rights (according to an Americans with Disabilities attorney I'm currently speaking with). My son tries to be "normal," but due to the Asperger's, it's not possible, but I'm a proud mother who sees her son trying so hard, only to be shot down. The meeting was humiliating. It's not fair, in my opinion, to be fired over a few bananas so he wouldn't be sick. They showed him no compassion (and they did know he has Asperger's). I suggest people work with those who have disabilities instead of against them. All I ask is employers help somebody with a disability instead of firing them. Self-esteem is everything.

Never been to Bob Evans before. Pleasantly surprised! The inside decor looked nice and it looked new and clean. My waiter was excellent! He was so polite and professional. He got a good tip from me just for that. I ordered a farmhouse breakfast with eggs sausage hashbrowns and the blueberry French toast and all of it was yummy. I'll come back again.

I'm giving one star because I have to give something.. My order was messed up.. My sons eggs was really wet..( not cooked threw) . my eggs got cold waiting for my French toast.. My son asked for a glass of orange juice and the waiter basically asked could we afford the extra $3 for it. On top of just being a horrible waiter.. I had to wait ten minutes for my bill.. The manager was too busy talking to the employees to check on the guest... My best experience was while checking out. BRI was great.. Never will I return to the locations..

I love me some Bob Evan's!!! This is the closest location to my house, but I never go here because it's out of my way. I came here on New Years day with the boyfriend after staying the night at a hotel down the street. We love Bob Evan's, so when we saw how close we were, we stopped right in. We both went with the Pot Roast and egg breakfast, and let me tell you, this is the best food you will eat anywhere. I don't know how they do it, but their pot roast rocks! Service here was good, and we never had a problem. I don't get to go to Bob Evan's often, so it's kind of a treat when I do. I don't eat pork, so sometimes their menu items can be limiting for me, as it seemed for a while that everything was covered in pork coming here. I also like that Bob Evan's keep a clean restaurant. Mostly all set up the same with friendly staff and good food. I will be back in the future!

Horrible service and bad management. This is my first review and rarely get this ticked off. Still sitting here at bob evans compelled to complain while I wait for food. To begin, no one to greet me to be seated...asked a waitress who said someone will be there but offered no help. After a couple mins, a young lad strolled up from the kitchen and had an attitude when I asked for booth. Four booths were open but none were clean. Waited exactly 10 mins. at my booth and had to ask for service. A waiter from another section took care of me. A girl just vacuumed under my booth at 7:20pm and kept going to other occupued tables while all are eating ... didn't say a word. Shame on you Bob Evans corp. Pull it together at this location.

I ordered the salmon fillet, it was so over cooked it was hard as a rock. After I was finally able to saw off a bite, I chewed that dried up chunk of fish for what seemed like 20 minutes, then spit it out. The service wasn't friendly, and the bathrooms were dirty. Do yourself a favor and save your money for some real food because this place is disgusting.

I don't think I've ever been to a Bob Evans when there wasn't a roomful of people waiting to be seated. My most recent visit wasn't any different. But on this extremely rare occasion, I was just a party of one so I plopped down at the bar with no delay. I can see why the reviews of this location would be hit or miss. I actually had a perky, super friendly server that took great care of me. I had coffee in 2 seconds flat. My order was submitted and food delivered in no time. She dropped off my bill right away to avoid delay. However, I noticed some pretty aggravated customers around me. One lady sat down at the bar and tried to get someone's attention for service. She flagged down one guy and asked if he was busy. He replied sarcastically, "oh no, ma'am, we're all just standing around doing nothing." She tried to get his attention again several minutes later and he said "someone will be with you, look at all these servers around!" Yikes. Said servers were definitely not standing around, they were flying around... the place was packed! They seemed to be working well together, so I'm not sure what happened at the bar. My server started picking up tables, so she didn't help the lady at the counter. As I was leaving, I noticed she finally got some water but was still trying to flag someone down to take her order. Regardless, my experience was fantastic. The food was just delicious. I enjoyed being at the counter with all the hustle and bustle happening around me. The gentleman beside me seemed pleased, but he did mention that his noodle soup had way to many noodles. Our perky gal happily offered more broth but he'd already started on his scrumptious looking turkey platter. At Bob Evans, you take your bill to the register to pay and the girl there was just as sweet as my server. They have free wifi and takeout. I would have no hesitation with going back for another visit.

Food is always consistent, service is good, and nobody gives you the evil eye if you linger over coffee and conversation. Mostly eat breakfast there, but have had a couple of lunches and dinners and have been pleased with it all. This isn't a posh Michelin-style kind of place to be sure, but overall good food with a casual environment. I prefer this to any of the "coney" type places in the area for breakfast.

Just left Bob Evans actually still in the parking lot sitting in my car. this service horrible takes 10 minutes for them to give me a cup of coffee then take another 15 minutes to receive my breakfast nobody seems interested in service staff was just in the corner laughing, they had time to joke around but didn't have time to take care of the customers I would never come here again horrible experience stay a way!

The service was horrible! Took awhile to be seated, took forever to get out orders, they lost us tickets and we waited a hour for our food. While people who came after us got there food and left before us. We were the last ones to leave. Manager didn't even come talk to us after we complaint he sent the waitress to apologize for him. I got pot pie and it looked nothing like a pot pie it just look like soup covered with a pita bread on top. Worst experience ever. I wouldn't suggest this location. Oh and the cook eats while he is cooking. So unprofessional.

I don't go to Bob Evans much anymore, but their thick yummy bacon was calling my name. So, I drop my son off at Chinese School and proceed to go to Bob Evans to eat breakfast and work on my taxes. Maybe it was the tax work that put me in a bad mood, but when I entered, no one said hi. The host finally came over, after he finished what he was doing, asked "just 1?" (My favorite question!!!). There seemed to be confusion because instead of interacting with me, he needed to talk into his little walky-talky thing that did not work. Well, the host handed me over to a hostess to seat me...it felt like government bureaucracy at its finest. The server, who I believe has been there for a very long time, came over, got my order, served my coffee, etc. All was well...then I received my 2 eggs over easy (and they actually were!), hash browns (well, I would call them hash whites because they WERE RAW and CRUNCHY!!), bacon, and rye toast. What really peeved me was the raw hash browns and the unbuttered toast...at least over 1/2 of it was unbuttered. I may be unreasonable to think that a restaurant that specializes in breakfast could serve me a breakfast that I could eat. In the end, I waited like 1 minute with the plate in front of me, was so perturbed that I put my coat on and left...I went to Big Boy (which was a little better).

I had the chicken pot pie which was tasty though the crust could have been browned a touch more. Hubby wanted the cod dinner since he's Catholic and it's Lent. He ordered the 3 piece dinner with two sides. When it came, he had 2 pieces of cod. Luckily we caught the server and told her the mistake. The server said she thought he'd already eater one! In less than a minute? Maybe she was joking but that's not a good response. She did bring the third piece of cod so all was well. Both of us had the cole slaw which is one of the best in the area. Unfortunately it was like cole slaw soup. I thought I heard the little pieces of cabbage yelling for a life preserver or help because they were drowning! I do like the coffee pot they now put on the table.

Just got a free meal because of the horrible rude service. Manager dealt with it well but could they hire people that care about their jobs and customers? The morning crew is better. We Won't be back for dinner service again!

Just got back from Bob Evans... I'm very disappointed and angry at the incompetent management. This is probably one of the worst service I've ever had. I came in with a group of four around 8:15pm. Once we entered we were not greeted and had to wait to be seated. They weren't too busy either. After a while, someone came from the back kitchen and seated us. After some more waiting, the waitress finally came and got our drink orders. We waited about 5 additional minutes for our drinks to come and we waited for another 10 minutes until the waitress came to get our meal orders. It was a very slow service, but it wasn't a big deal because I was trying to be understanding. Anyways we waited for about 20 minutes for our appetizer. I ordered a salad, however when it came out, I was dissappointed. There were a bunch of cranberries on it and I specifically mentioned 2 times to the waitress that I did not want cranberries. At this rate the service was extremely slow and the waitress was busy serving other customers. Again, I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and just picked out all the cranberries from my salad. At the same time, a group of 3 people came in and sat at the booth next to us. The waitress took their order and in a short while they all got there food. Hmm... well that's strange considering we were here first and and still haven't gotten our food yet. At this point my patience was quickly deminishing and only hanging by a thread. The waitress finally came back and said that apparently our orders weren't put in and the tickerts were "lost" so we had to wait a little longer. I was beyond pissed. I wanted to leave, but my friends said to wait because we already waited this long and there's no point in leaving. It's now 9:15 and we were still waiting on our food. The group next to us just left and I had enough of it. Our food finally came out, but at this point no one in our group was happy. The waitress apologized, but at the same time she kept on making up excuses thinking it would somehow make up for the terrible service. The worst part was that the manager did not even try to consult with our table, he merely peered over at us as if we were not worth his time. He personally visited tables around us but not our table. We felt that we were discrimated against because we are a group of young, minority, college students, however that should never deter anyone from taking us seriously because we are very courteous and generous tippers. The manager, who's name was Eric, sent us his regards through the waitress, and offered us "free" desserts. When we ordered desserts the bus boy came out to tell us there was no more desserts that we wanted and offered us bread instead. Are you serious?!? I cannot believe that this is a business. How can Mr. Eric call himself a manager if he doesn't do his job and keep his customers happy? He was too scared to talk to us when we were visably distraught and upset. We couldn't even finish our meals because of how mediocre and thoughless the meals and service were. I was expecting the manager to check us out because he checked out other people. However when we got up to pay, the manager left his post and was no where to be seen. How surprising. After we paid and got to our cars, I peered back into the restaurant and the manager came back out from hiding. I will never come back to this establishment again. They need to learn, especially that manager, to be more attentive and show concern for their customers. Even though we had a bad experience, I still gave them a gracious 20% tip because I understand that it is hard for waitresses to make a living. As a hardworking customer I was not trying to get a free meal out of this, nor a handout, I simply wanted the respect I deserved. P.S. The only reason why I gave it one star because yelp doesn't allow 0.

All the best memories of family road trips usually begin at Bob Evans. There always seems to be a Bob Evans right before you get on any major highway or turnpike, and this one is no different. Right off of I-75, nestled between a Steak and Shake and a business complex is Bob Evans. The inside is much like a suburban Cracker Barrel, except no awesome checker games at the tables. Service was quick, I got there with my friend around 12:30, and was worried they stopped serving breakfast, which is foolish, because it's Bob Evans. It's what they do. I ordered some kind of country skillet, which was quite good. Egg on the bottom filled with potatoes, cheese, country gravy and other heart attack inducing things on the inside. It was very tasty, and very filling. Almost too much, but they pride themselves on stuffing you, like a good grandma (or Bob) should. My friend got the biscuits and gravy, which was quite hearty. It's weird to be served a big bowl of gravy. Weird and American, that is. Service was good and the facilities were quite clean. They have some fun trinkets in the lobby including a rack of "things that happened in the year you were born" books. William Shatner pretty much ruled 1982. All in all this Bob Evans was much like the Bob Evans of my youth, like grandmas breakfast cooking, only you have to pay for it with money instead of kisses.

A snowy winter Sunday deserves a nice Sunday brunch. Actually, when it gets down to it, unless there's a blizzard or a hurricane, any Sunday deserves a nice Sunday brunch. On this coldest of days yet we headed out to grab brunch at the Hilton Road Cafe. With very little waiting area, they were full and we didn't want to wait in the 4'x4' vestibule so on a hunch we made our way down to the Farm, the Bob Evans farm. According to their website, Bob Evans started when good old farmer Bob began hocking his delicious sausages in a 12-stool diner in Gallipolis Ohio back in 1948. Amidst the dawn of hoop skirts and rock n roll, Bob's been churning out the sausage and biscuits for 63 years now and his sausages have never been better. The Madison Heights location looks like it's relatively new. The atmosphere is pretty typical of a national chain breakfast joint but warmer than a Big Boy. I have to say that I was surprised by the abundance of desserts on their menu. In fact, Bob's been working hard - the menu is gigantic. Having had some experience on the marketing side of a restaurant I always wonder how these national chains churn out such bountiful choices. I got the cinnamon stuffed pancakes and he got the Sunshine skillet. The sweetness of the stuffed pancakes was a bit overwhelming. His skillet was really yummy. The coffee tasted like coffee flavored paper towels, which is why I teetered between giving Bob a 2 or 3 star rating. You specialize in breakfast, make sure the coffee is worthy of the sausage. But, in a pinch, Bob's is steadfast and delicious, and I was also impressed with their offerings in the lobby - prepackaged cookie and dessert mixes, jams, jellies and what-nots. And it turns out they now sell pre-packaged dinners which is always convenient when you're planning a last minute dinner party. It was a nice stop on an cold Sunday. We prefer a local joint, but in a pinch, you can't beat Bob's sausage.

My Family loves this "Bobs" as my daughter calls it. They recently remodeled and it looks even better now. We are creatures of habit and usually order the same thing which is the Farmers Choice breakfast which is eggs, meat of choice, hash browns or home frys, and pancakes. I have deviated from my usual a few times and the meal came up short - barely a meal on the plate i.e. the biscuit bowl which is very tasty but not hearty. I once tried the fried green tomatoes and they were also a flop. They have a good selection on the children menu however when we ordered the hamburger/sliders they were very over cooked and dry and recently opted for the mac and cheese it seem like day old Kraft mac and cheese so again we now stick with the breakfast menu on the kids menu as well. The breakfast foods always come hot and fast. However most of the time the service wait staff leaves much to be desired they don't seem to come back very often that would be my only gripe.
